With the futuristic building project at Frankfurt airport, Hilton opened two establishments at "The Squaire" on the 20th of December - a European premiere. With this new strategy, Hilton would like to fulfil the demands of a variety of target groups at one location. After some construction delays and an entire construction time of four years, both hotels have a total area of 34,500 square metres, making up one quarter of the total rentable surface at "The Squaire", offering a total of 583 rooms.
The interior decoration is the handywork of JOI Design, the interior decorators. The Hamburg-based company were awarded the contract and were responsible for the emotional conversion of this unusual building project.
The perfectly designed showroom, as well as the decades of experience and solid quality of the Salzburg hotel outfitter were decisive, which is why Voglauer hotel concept were requested to take part in the project in equipping the hotel rooms and the public areas. Voglauer was responsible here as a complete outfitter for the complete interior decoration, as well as having the responsibility for fine-tuning the design co-ordination.
At both hotels, decelerating forms and colours work as a contrast and an oasis for pleasant sensations, countering the hectic surroundings. In the 249 rooms and suites of the 5 Star "HotelsHiltonFrankfurtAirport“, the beige tones emit relaxation and comfort. For the rooms themselves, sen (japanese ash) was used. In addition, the impressive, unique architecture was also designed in the form of the interior to create a unique, authentic appearance. In the highly active lobby, the ingenious, overhanging suspended bronze fabric canopies really impress. For Voglauer, these presented a special challenge.
The public areas, such as the bar, restaurant, lounge, wellness, fitness and conference areas were all fitted out in dark woods, such as oak, elm, nut and olive. For this, Voglauer were able to use their long-standing experience and their quality as a producer in the genuine wood sector.
The second hotel in "The Squaire" project is the "Hilton Garden Inn” with 334 rooms. The hotel was fitted with fine nut wood and was designed in a streamlined concept. This hotel represents Hilton's 4 Star segment. The "Hilton Garden Inn” is the second largest house of the Hilton brand worldwide.
With its interior architectural refinement and impressive materials, as well as the sparkling Swarowski crystals incorporated into zebrano wood, the ballroom generates an exciting, atmospheric effect.
The building that is "The Squaire" is a total of 660 metres long and is up to 65 metres high in some places, making it probably the most spectacular new building project currently inEurope. Its situation is also unique: Directly at Frankfurt airport, above the intercity express railway station, right on the most important motorway interchange inGermany(A3 – A5), and right in the middle of Nature itself, on the edge of theFrankfurtcity woods.
Wherever one is, every guest expects architectural highlights and an interior design which is independent and unmistakeable.
