New boutique hotel opens in the trendy Mitte district
The new four-star hotel on Invalidenstraße is in a central location and therefore makes the perfect starting point for business travellers and tourists visiting Berlin. As a modern hotel, it blends in perfectly with its surroundings of galleries, bars and young designers’ shops.
The decades of international experience and the impressive quality of the hotel designer from Salzburg was the decisive factor in Voglauer hotel concept being commissioned with the design implementation of 103 rooms, three of which are wheelchair accessible and six rooms for visually-impaired and hearing-impaired guests. The project, which was acquired while the building was still just a shell, presented a logistical challenge due to the restricted road conditions in Berlin Mitte. With the "brown comfort" room concept design by Voglauer, warm, soft, earthy colours and natural elements were applied. Dark brown headboards combined with bright natural shades on the walls and the floor bring out the lime-green and purple seating. The living and sleeping area and the bathroom can be separated by a large sliding door with a modern design. A second room design, "white comfort" was designed by the Petzold architecture firm and plays with bright and lightening colours.
The i-31 Hotel Berlin Mitte also has an underground car park, a fitness/sauna area and a quiet courtyard garden, which, along with the lobby and the bar, create a suitable setting for the modern fitted rooms in this non-smoking hotel.
