Following an intensive planning and construction phase, the moment had finally arrived: the Hotel Traube in Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest town, was officially opened. VOGLAUER refurbished and furnished 14 double rooms and four suites in the listed former residence of the Bavarian duke. Every room in the Hotel Traube Rattenberg, from the spacious suite to the classically elegant room, tells its own story. The design captures the historic building’s charm without neglecting the comforts of modern life.
The walls, some of which date back 700 years, create an impressive ambience. The old wooden ceiling has been preserved wherever possible, and paintings from various centuries were uncovered during the work. Iron rings on the walls of the vaults are a reminder of the feeding troughs that once stood here. With a twinkle in their eyes, the hosts have transformed the former feeding place into a breakfast buffet.
The project also included two fully equipped kitchens as well as a reception, a back office and the breakfast room. From the furnishings to the fabric concept, every detail was harmonised with the old walls. Our fitters proved to be highly adaptable in the process: some of the cupboards, for example, were customised to match each individual brick. A very special project that was realised with a great deal of motivation!
