The themed hotel, which has been family-owned since 1952, had to be completely refurbished due to devastating floods. The family Sörnitz relied on the quality and professionalism of Voglauer hotel concept.
The Salzburg-based hotel designer was able to fully demonstrate its core expertise in the renovation of the hotel Zur Schiffsmühle in Grimma.
30 rooms, a reception, a restaurant with bar, a breakfast buffet and a function room with buffet were redesigned in cooperation with the family Sörnitz. What resulted was a subtle country house look combined with modern elements.
Materials such as wild oak and waste wood are in the foreground in the public area. The bedrooms are in brushed pine and thus provide a higher degree of sleeping comfort that has been scientifically proven.
The themed hotel Zur Schiffsmühle also offers a wellness area, a bowing alley, children’s playground, mini-golf, bike rental and other activities for its guests.
